For most restaurant, bar, hotel, and cafeteria menus, a quality thermal laminating film in 3 mil or 5 mil is the practical starting point. The right choice changes when menus are oversized, folded, heat-sensitive, frequently revised, or used in high-contact environments.

Start With the Menu's Working Conditions

Menu lamination is not only a cosmetic finishing step. It is a protection decision that affects replacement frequency, guest perception, and staff cleanup time. A counter-service menu board insert may need basic scuff resistance, while a full-service restaurant's wine list may need a low-glare surface and a more substantial feel.

Before selecting film, look at the menu's actual use.
